The wallbox is the backbone of everyday mobility: safe, cost-effective and ideal wherever vehicles are parked anyway – in the garage, in the company car park or in the underground car park of an apartment building.
22 kW
Basics
What is a wallbox – and why not just use the socket?
A wallbox is a permanently installed charging station for alternating current (AC). Unlike a household socket, it is designed for hours of high-power charging: with its own fuse protection, residual-current protection and communication with the vehicle. This not only makes charging significantly faster, but above all safer.
11 kW – the standard
Three-phase charging at 11 kW conveniently charges most EVs to full overnight or during a working day. The installation simply has to be registered with the grid operator (subject to notification) – no approval is required. The most economical choice for most private and many commercial applications.
22 kW – when it needs to be faster
At 22 kW the charging time is halved – provided the vehicle can accept this power on the AC side. Charging equipment above 12 kW is subject to approval by the grid operator: the connection may only go into operation after their consent. We handle the entire procedure for you.
Good to know: In Germany, registration or approval with the grid operator is mandatory for every permanently installed charging device. EEFA handles registration, documentation and coordination with your grid operator entirely for you.
Smart charging
More than just power from the wall
Modern wallboxes are connected energy managers. Configured correctly, they lower your charging costs and turn several charging points into a coordinated system.
Load management for multiple charging points
As soon as several vehicles charge at the same time, load management decides how the available connection capacity is distributed. Whether statically or dynamically controlled, ten or more vehicles can charge on a connection that would otherwise only be enough for a few – without a costly expansion of the grid connection.
Full use of the existing grid connection
Prioritisation of individual parking spaces or user groups possible
Scalable – additional charging points can be added later
PV surplus charging
Combined with a photovoltaic system, your wallbox preferentially charges when the sun delivers more than the building consumes. The surplus flows directly into the vehicle battery – instead of into the grid for a low feed-in tariff. This way you drive on self-generated solar power at unbeatable per-kilometre costs.
Significantly higher self-consumption from your PV system
Automatic control – no manual intervention required
Can be combined with battery storage and energy management
Planning a wallbox and PV system together? That is exactly what we are here for – from the PV online calculator to a complete energy concept with storage.
For whom?
One solution, three fields of application
Whether a single parking space or an entire underground car park – we size the charging infrastructure to suit the users, the building and the grid connection.
Private
Your own wallbox in the garage or carport: fully charged overnight, with solar power from your own roof on request. We advise on power, location and registration – and install turnkey.
Charging points for company cars, employees and customers – with load management, access control and billing of individual charging sessions. Ideally combined with solar carports in the car park.
Housing sector
Scalable charging infrastructure for apartment buildings and underground car parks: shared base installation, per-user billing and expandability as more tenants switch to electric driving.
We clarify charging needs, vehicle and parking situation and check the house connection and supply line.
Registration
We register the charging device with the grid operator or, at 22 kW, obtain the required approval.
Installation
Professional mounting, fuse protection and commissioning by our qualified electricians – including instruction.
Service
On request, we take care of maintenance, updates and integration into load management or PV surplus charging.
Federal, state and local governments regularly launch funding programmes for private and commercial charging infrastructure. You can find out which subsidies are currently available on our funding for wallboxes page – and we are happy to assess the funding options for your project with you.
