Ground-mounted systems & Agri-PV

More than open land – we turn it into the future.

Your land can do more

Clean energy and agriculture – hand in hand

With photovoltaics on open land and agriculturally used areas, you generate clean energy, secure long-term income and make a concrete contribution to the energy transition. EEFA supports you from the initial idea through to commissioning – holistically, individually and cost-effectively.

Put land to double use

Agri-PV enables power generation and agriculture on the same land at the same time.

Individual planning

Every site is different – we plan precisely based on development plans, site data and your needs.

Stable returns

Long-term income through EEG feed-in tariffs, direct marketing or self-consumption.

Everything from one source

From permitting through installation to maintenance – EEFA coordinates the entire project for you.

Shading

The shading effect – how PV systems positively influence the microclimate

Ground-mounted photovoltaic systems not only contribute to the energy transition, they also affect their immediate surroundings. One of these little-known but increasingly relevant effects is the so-called shading effect. It describes the microclimatic change beneath and around solar modules – with some positive effects for soil, vegetation and agriculture.

Protection from evaporation & drying out

The PV modules reduce direct sunlight on the ground and provide shade. As a result, less moisture evaporates, which stabilises soil moisture especially during dry spells and makes it easier for plants to survive.

Less soil erosion & dust formation

Thanks to the altered air movement beneath the modules, the soil is protected from direct wind exposure. This reduces soil erosion and can help preserve fertility over the years – particularly on light soils.

Habitat diversity & microhabitats

The shading creates varying light conditions and temperature zones, giving rise to new habitats for insects, herbs and ground-level plant species. Especially in combination with Agri-PV, this creates ecologically valuable added benefit.
